A. Converting Document from RGB
to Duotone

1) Image>Adjust>Mode>Grayscale. Click OK to Discard color info.

* One of few times that I recommend this conversion for b/w imagery.

2) Go to Image>Adjust>Mode>Duotone.
Duotone Options appear.

3) Select Duotone Type, Monotone, Duotone, Tritone or Quadtone.
Begin to choose desired Ink to be used in toning of the image.

4) When colors are complete, click on the Curve next to the Ink and adjust for tonal acceptance of color in highlights/shadows areas.

The Duotone Curve works by placing points along a tonal gradation.

5) Once the Curves are refined, the result of the Quadtone provides extended tonal range by adding color to enhance depth perception.

* Warm colors tend to jump off the paper, while cool tones retreat.
