I. Simulate Holga Vignette

A. Creating a Selection from a Channel

1) Open an optimized and previously prepared RGB image.

2) Create New Layer Copy In the Layers Palette.
Name Layer accordingly.

3) Edit>Fill and Fill Contents Using Black, Normal, 100% Opacity.

4) Grab the Elliptical Marquee Ellipse and create a perfect circle.

* Hold the Shift key down while dragging across with the mouse.

5) With selection still active, go to Select>Menu>Inverse Selection.

* This can be skipped if alt/option is held at Layer Mask creation in Step 6.

6) Add a Layer Mask by clicking Layre Button on the Layers palette.

* White reveals and black conceals info on Layer Masks and Alpha Channels.

7) Go to Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur and dial in a high pixel Radius.

8) Adjust the Layer Opacity to obtain smooth and subtle results.

9) The final result should simulate a Holga vignette effect.
