I. Creating a Watercolor Effect

A.
Artistic Filters

1) Go to Filter>Artisitc>Dry Brush to bring up the window in Step 2.

Color Balance
Image>Grayscale


2) Adjust Dry Brush options. Brush Size, Detail, and Texture
. Click OK.

Discard color


3)
Go to Filter>Artistic>Poster Edges, adjust for Thickness and Intensity. Click OK.

Discard color


4) Duplicate Background and switch off the Background copy temporarily.

5) Go to Filter>Brushstrokes>Accented Edges adjust for Width, Brightness, and Smoothness. Click OK.

6) Switch on the Background copy to apply Filter>Stylize>Find Edges. Change the Blend Mode of the Background copy to Multiply.

7) Results can be adjusted to further enhance realistic qualities of watercolor by using different types of paper media, and also investigating the use of Gaussian Blur, and other Artist filters.
